Zeh'nita - a Na'vi girl
Hi all,
Just dropping a w.i.p here. I am still working on it in free time, but I thought I'd share it here for suggestions.
About her : Yea..she is not Neytiri. She is Zeh'nita, an aspiring model of the Na'vi community.
Here's a comp of the of the hairmeshes.
New Update:
Thanks for peeping in..
Anish

Thanks Cem n Lee.
I really want to try some sim. But this itself slows my comp a little too much when all layers are turned on. Lets see.
The braid modeling concept is from Christer Bjørklund :

and applied it to hairmesh extrude (through splines).

Nice work, Anish!
I'm wondering if you can improve the lighting a little bit. Especially braids on the right side seem a bit too "flat" to me. May be you can give some sense of depth with dark and brighter areas.

Awesome update Anish, the expressions are lovely! How are you rendering the base head? MR?anishmations wrote:Sure I will try Cem. Lighting is one area I am still not very happy about.

If you want I would be happy to lend a hand, or I could atleast send over a base HDR scene for you to try out : )

Great work
Some crits,
You should try and build a custom hairline layer that fads of into your main hair mesh to have that separate tuning and control over the hairline. Unless you already have ?
Maybe some more frizz layers would help. Since braided hair strands usualy break off as time goes on creating that frizzy look, plus its pretty hard to have all those hair strands braided so neatly.
