The Comedian
The Comedian
Hello fellow Hair-Farmer's
First i want to say how amazing Hair-farm is, finally there is an hair solution that is artist friendly, and "easy" to use. Although hair is never easy to make, even struggling with this amazing tool but it has never been easier to make a hairstyle as with hair-farm. AND at lightning fast render times. I'm always blown away how good it can look when Infinite posts new pictures. Maybe Some day i will be able to create as nice hair renders.
Anyway here is an personal project i'm currently working on, The Comedian from watchmen. Hes still work in progress and there still is alot of work to be done... but i hope you like it anyway.

Re: The Comedian
Great work! I'm looking forward to seeing your updates.
You've done a great job with hair. Adding some more variation can improve the realism. I would start with applying Frizz on some hair strands (using the Appy To rollout).
Hair on the chest, arms, and even fingers would help. You can also have a shaved beard add fuzz all over the skin as Infinite does all the time. Actually, if you ask him, he might even tell you to use Hair Farm on the clothing.
Well, now that we have a fast hair renderer, feel free to go nuts!

Thanks Cem !
Yes, think i need to breake up the forms lite more on the hair, and thanks for the tips need to look into those.
I do accualy have some chest hairs but they kinda disapear in the comp and with the added Dof, But that needs to be tweaked And Ill be sure adding more body hairs, especialy on the arms !
just amazing.. rendering at 4k+ res and having a render time at 15sec.. im blown away.
Well thats was just the hair on the head and with the comedian mesh ofc (around 100k hairs).. but still.
Oh and the best part... no crashes, what so ever !
/cheers !

I'm glad to hear that. If you ever find a way to make Hair Farm crash, please post it on the forum and I will try to take care of that asap.jukkat wrote:no crashes, what so ever !

WoW! This is incredible. My mind has just blown a fuse! Amazing work jukkat. The character, style of rendering, the hair.... everything! Also great choice of character! Was this piece just for fun?
My only crit is it seems dark on my laptop but that could just be the laptops settings. Was the character lit with MR or scanline?

Thanks ! means alot coming from you.
yes this was just for fun and a exercise trying to improve my skills and ofcourse portfolio material
It is suposed to be abit dark as i wanted the feel of night time and kinda after rain as in the movie. Was wondering if it would be abit to dark.. As for me at my screen: it is dark but not to dark... One should be able to pick up the smoke in the background and so on.
The comedian is rendered with MR, and the hair with scanline.

Hi jukkat,
The image isn't to dark! it must have been my laptop.
Great image and good luck over on that other forum you posted on, sadly I don't think it will get the credit it deserves, mainly due to how that forum is moderated these days. Your work is award winning for sure! : )

Great work man
Maybe a little rim light would help along with some dirt and sweat maps.
