Hello all,
This Lion is part of a project for the world cup broadcasting, here at Arte DGJE - TV Globo.
Hair Farm have greatly improved our work-flow allowing us to have more and closer shots of the lion in our project.
The Lion model along with the textures and the uvw was bought on Turbosquid from Massimo Righi.
We have made here the rig, skin, shading, lighs, animation and, of course, the hair solution.
The original model have a very good hair setup but it uses Maya hair and we use 3Ds Max here so we ended up doing the hair from scratch.
One thing that I want to say here is that we had made the hair with the 3Ds Max engine before we moved to Hair Farm and Hair Farm proved to be at least 20 times faster with a lot more stability.
This shot took only 2min. per frame on a dual quad core intel with 409.000 hair strands(The lion have fur all over it's body).
The dynamics is also awesome, very fast and very easy to setup.
Another important thing I want to mention is that we had only 3 days to work on this new hair solution (with Hair Farm) because the project was already on the fly so the modeling approach of Hair Farm was very handy.
At the end we all loved the result and Hair Farm is now incorporated on our work-flow. At least on mine
Best regards for you all!
